We adhere to a “Data Minimization” principle. We only process data necessary to provide the audit services you request.

A. User-Submitted Content (The “Audit Data”)

The Extension does not automatically monitor your browsing history. We only access and process web page content when you explicitly trigger an action:

  • Trigger: Clicking “Run Audit” in the extension popup or using the context menu (“Audit with AEO/GEO Auditor.”).
  • Data: The text content of the active browser tab or the specific text selection you have highlighted.
  • Purpose: This content is transiently processed to generate AI Visibility, EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness), and Sentiment scores. This processing is necessary for the performance of our contract with you to provide the service.

B. Technical & Authentication Data

  • API Key: Used to authenticate your access to EZ Agency’s suite of tools. You may provide a valid API key. This key is transmitted to our servers for verification.
  • Device identifier: A randomly generated, anonymous identifier stored locally on your device for rate limiting. This is used for system administration, troubleshooting, and to apply rate limits to ensure the security and stability of our service.
  • Industry Preference: The industry setting selected in the popup to tailor the audit context and improve the relevance of the results.
  1. How We Process Your Data

To deliver enterprise-grade analysis, the content you submit is transmitted securely as follows:

  • Transmission: Data is sent via encrypted (HTTPS) channels to our servers (tools.ezagency.com.au).
  • AI Analysis: We utilize Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini) and Google Cloud Natural Language API. These providers are used strictly for inference.
  • No Training: We do not use your submitted content to train public AI models. The processing is done on a one-off basis.
  1. Data Retention

Transient Processing: The text content is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored. The raw text is discarded immediately after the audit report is generated and delivered back to you.

Local Storage: The Extension stores your API Key, Device ID, and most recent result locally (chrome.storage.local). You may clear this anytime via the “Clear Storage” button within the Extension settings.

  1. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid request by a governmental or law enforcement authority in Australia. We may also disclose information to our professional advisors and in the context of a business transaction, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to confidentiality obligations.

We take the security of your information seriously. We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including the use of TLS/SSL encryption for all data transmitted between the Extension and our servers. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
