The Extension is designed to help users organize, extract, and sync content from Xiaohongshu web pages that they choose to process. This policy only applies to this Extension and does not cover other EZ Agency products or services.

By installing and using the Extension, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We follow a data minimization principle. The Extension only processes data necessary to provide the features you explicitly use.

A. User-Selected Xiaohongshu Content

The Extension does not automatically monitor your full browsing history. It only runs on supported Xiaohongshu web pages and processes content when you intentionally use features such as scanning, extracting, or syncing notes.

The data processed may include:

  • Xiaohongshu note ID
  • Note title
  • Note text/content
  • Note URL
  • Like count or other visible engagement information
  • Scan time, extraction time, and sync status
  • Processing logs related to scan, extraction, and sync tasks

This data is used to help you organize notes, extract content, avoid duplicate processing, and sync selected content to your EZ Agency tools account.

B. Technical and Authentication Data

The Extension may store or process:

  • API Key: Used to authenticate your access to EZ Agency tools.
  • Extension settings and configuration.
  • Local processing status, logs, and sync progress.
  • Browser tab information required to keep scan or extraction tasks running on the selected Xiaohongshu page.

The API Key is stored locally in Chrome storage and transmitted to our servers only for verification and authenticated syncing.

How We Process Your Data

When you use the Extension, selected note data may be stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local.

If you choose to connect your API Key and sync content, selected note data is transmitted securely via HTTPS to our server: https://tools.ezagency.com.au.

The synced data is used to provide your dashboard, content management, analysis, rewriting, or related workflow features within EZ Agency tools.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.

AI Processing

Some EZ Agency features may use AI or automated analysis to help summarize, analyze, rewrite, or organize submitted content.

When such features are used, the relevant content may be processed by our backend systems and trusted service providers solely to provide the requested functionality.

We do not use your submitted content to train public AI models.

Data Retention

Local Storage

The Extension stores selected notes, API Key, settings, logs, and processing status locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local.

You can clear this data using the data clearing feature in the Extension or by uninstalling the Extension.

Server Storage

If you choose to sync content to tools.ezagency.com.au, the synced note data may be stored in your EZ Agency tools account so that you can access and manage it later.

Server-side data is retained as needed to provide the service, unless deleted through available account tools or upon a valid deletion request.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may disclose information:

  • When required by law or in response to a valid legal request.
  • To service providers who help us operate, secure, host, analyze, or improve the service.
  • To professional advisors where necessary.
  • In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to confidentiality obligations.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

Data transmitted between the Extension and our servers is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. API Keys are stored locally in Chrome storage and used only for authentication and service access.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

User Control

You can control your data by:

  • Choosing when to scan, extract, or sync Xiaohongshu content.
  • Clearing local Extension data from within the Extension.
  • Removing your API Key from the Extension.
  • Uninstalling the Extension at any time.
  • Contacting us to request access, correction, or deletion of data associated with your EZ Agency tools account.

Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of information we hold about you.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, features, legal requirements, or operational needs.

We will update the “Last updated” date when changes are made.
